The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has revealed extensive renovations at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. A two-minute video shared on PCB’s official X (formerly Twitter) account showcases the major upgrades aimed at enhancing the spectator experience and modernizing the historic venue.
According to a PCB press release, the renovations include:
✅ Closer Spectator Enclosures: Fans will now be 20 feet closer to the action, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
✅ New Imported Seating: Modern, comfortable seats have been installed for an improved viewing experience.
✅ High-Resolution Replay Screens: Advanced digital screens will provide crystal-clear replays and match updates.
✅ State-of-the-Art Floodlights: Newly installed LED floodlight towers will enhance live broadcast quality and stadium visibility.
One of the most significant changes is the increase in seating capacity, expanding from 21,500 to over 34,000, allowing more cricket enthusiasts to witness the high-profile tournament.
With Pakistan set to host its first major ICC event since the 1996 World Cup, the PCB is under pressure to ensure that all venues meet international standards. The upgrades are part of a broader effort to modernize Pakistan’s cricket infrastructure ahead of a tri-nation series and the much-anticipated Champions Trophy 2025.
