In an official announcement, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has declared the temporary suspension of gas supply in certain areas of Quetta for a day. The interruption is necessitated by essential maintenance work on a 12-inch diameter gas pipeline near Dhadhar Road in Quetta, which has suffered minor damages.
According to a spokesperson from SSGC, a specialized team has already reached the site, and repair work is in progress. The maintenance process is expected to take a few hours, after which the gas supply will be promptly restored.
The spokesperson emphasized that the suspension is a precautionary measure to address the minor damage to the pipeline and ensure the safety and efficiency of the gas distribution system. The SSGC assures residents that every effort is being made to expedite the repair process and resume normal gas supply as soon as possible.
In a plea to consumers, the gas supplier urged understanding and requested them to refrain from comparing the temporary shutdown to load shedding. The company emphasized its commitment to providing uninterrupted gas supply to domestic consumers and assured that the inconvenience caused is temporary.
SSGC encourages consumers to cooperate during this maintenance period, assuring them that the situation is being handled with urgency, and normal gas services will resume shortly.
