The Government Media Office in Gaza has accused Israel of stealing organs from the bodies of 80 Palestinian individuals. The bodies were reportedly returned earlier at the Karam Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) border crossing, sparking outrage and demands for an international investigation.
The statement from the media office denounces what it calls the Israeli occupation army’s disregard for the dignity of the bodies of the 80 Palestinian martyrs, describing the conflict as a “genocidal war.” The bodies, according to the statement, were delivered mutilated, with significant changes in features, raising suspicions of organ theft.
“This is not the first time Israel has ‘mutilated’ Palestinian bodies,” the media office claims, pointing to previous incidents of exhumed graves in Jabalia and alleged theft of bodies. Moreover, the office asserts that Israel still has dozens of bodies from the Gaza Strip in its possession.
The media office calls for an independent international investigation into the matter, emphasizing the need for impartiality in examining the allegations of organ theft and mistreatment of Palestinian bodies.
As tensions escalate, this latest accusation adds to the longstanding conflict between the two parties, underlining the need for thorough investigations to ascertain the veracity of the claims. The international community is urged to intervene and address the concerns raised by the Gaza Government, as both sides continue to exchange accusations amid an already complex and sensitive geopolitical situation.
