In a major relief for thousands of Pakistanis seeking employment abroad, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has clarified that no new travel restrictions or additional requirements have been introduced for individuals traveling on valid work visas.
The announcement follows widespread concern and confusion caused by social media reports claiming that travelers needed new affidavits or clearances to depart for overseas jobs. The FIA has now confirmed that no such instructions have been issued, and that anyone holding a legal work visa, valid passport, and Protector certificate (where required) will be allowed to travel without unnecessary hurdles.
According to official sources, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis has directed immigration authorities to facilitate departing workers and ensure no undue offloading occurs at airports. Only passengers with incomplete or suspicious documents will be subject to additional checks.
The government is also working on a digital verification system to further streamline the travel process for overseas workers, allowing faster validation of employment contracts and visas at departure points.
Officials reaffirmed that overseas Pakistani workers are the backbone of the national economy, contributing billions in remittances each year. The government has reiterated its commitment to protecting their rights and ensuring smooth overseas travel.
This clarification brings much-needed reassurance to thousands of families relying on overseas employment, signaling the state’s support for lawful and documented labor migration.
