In a welcome announcement for thousands of Pakistani pilgrims, the Government of Pakistan has decided to refund Rs. 3.45 billion to those who performed Hajj in 2025 under the government scheme. The Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed that the refund is being issued due to cost savings in accommodation, transportation, and other logistical arrangements during the pilgrimage.
According to official sources, the refund process will begin soon, and eligible pilgrims will receive their due amounts directly in their bank accounts. The ministry emphasized that transparency and efficiency will be ensured throughout the process.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs stated that the government remains committed to making the Hajj experience more affordable and convenient for citizens. He added that the savings were the result of effective financial management and improved coordination with Saudi authorities.
Pilgrims have welcomed the decision, calling it a positive and timely gesture that reflects the government’s concern for the people’s welfare.
