The Government of Pakistan has officially approved a complete redesign of the Pakistani passport, introducing cutting-edge security features to enhance global recognition and prevent forgery. The new design aims to align with international standards and strengthen the integrity of Pakistan’s travel documentation.
According to the Interior Ministry, the updated passport will feature improved biometric integration, digital encryption, and advanced anti-counterfeiting technology, ensuring greater safety for Pakistani travelers abroad. The redesign will also include a fresh aesthetic layout, symbolizing Pakistan’s culture and national identity.
Interior Minister stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to modernization and citizen facilitation. “The new passport will not only be more secure but also more convenient, with faster processing and verification systems,” he said.
The rollout of the redesigned passport is expected to begin early next year, following the completion of technical and logistical preparations.
