The Child Protection and Welfare Bureau in Gujranwala has rescued a minor boy who was allegedly abused and exploited by a transgender guru, as seen in a viral video that ignited widespread anger on social media. The bureau took immediate action, registering a First Information Report (FIR) against the perpetrator and placing the child under its protection.

The incident came to light after fashion entrepreneur Maria B shared a distressing video clip on social media, showing the guru harassing and forcing the minor boy to dance. The footage, which quickly went viral, prompted public outrage and demands for justice.

Bureau Chairperson Sara Ahmed directed the rescue operation and ensured the child’s safety. In a statement, Ahmed confirmed that the boy would receive care, including education, food, shelter, and other basic necessities, at the Child Protection Bureau. She also urged the Inspector General of Punjab to expedite the arrest of the accused transgender individual.

Ahmed expressed gratitude to civil society for raising their voices against such exploitative practices and emphasized the bureau’s commitment to protecting vulnerable children. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, with authorities vowing to take strict action against those involved in such heinous acts.

This case highlights the importance of vigilance and collective action in safeguarding children from abuse and exploitation.
