RIYADH — Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has said he now “considers himself Saudi,” highlighting his strong bond with the Kingdom since joining Al Nassr in 2023.
Speaking at a recent event in Riyadh, Ronaldo praised Saudi Arabia’s hospitality, culture, and passion for football. “I’ve been here for almost two years now, and I feel at home. I consider myself Saudi,” he said, drawing loud applause from fans and officials.
Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr marked a major turning point for Saudi football, inspiring global stars to join the country’s professional league. Since then, he has become a central figure in promoting Saudi Arabia’s growing role in international sports.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also expressed pride in helping develop local talent and said he believes the Saudi Pro League has “the potential to become one of the best in the world.”
