Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik recently addressed the growing wave of criticism and online abuse directed towards him, asserting that he prefers to remain silent in the face of negativity.
In a statement made during an online lecture, Dr. Naik, who is known for his controversial views and wide influence in the global Islamic community, emphasized the importance of maintaining composure in the face of adversity.
“I have always maintained that if someone talks against me or even abuses me, I don’t respond to it,” Dr. Naik remarked. “Engaging with such negativity only serves to fuel it. Instead, I focus on my work and continue to spread the message of peace and understanding.”
Dr. Naik, whose speeches have sparked both admiration and backlash in various parts of the world, particularly for his comments on interfaith dialogue and religious philosophy, has been at the center of several debates and legal challenges. Despite this, he remains steadfast in his belief that criticism is a natural part of public life.
“I have my faith, and I trust that those who seek the truth will understand my intentions,” he added. “The key is not to let external noise distract from your purpose.”
Supporters of Dr. Naik have praised his calm demeanor, while critics argue that his views, particularly on controversial religious topics, often promote divisiveness. Nonetheless, the scholar’s resilience in the face of criticism continues to draw attention in both media and academic circles.
