In a pivotal decision, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has approved the petition of Bushra Bibi, the spouse of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, seeking relocation from the Banigala sub-jail to Adiala jail. The verdict, announced by IHC Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, mandates Bushra Bibi’s transfer to Adiala jail, where Imran Khan is presently detained.
The court’s decision comes after deliberations last week, following comprehensive arguments. During the preceding hearing, concerns were raised regarding accommodation for Bushra Bibi due to overcrowding and security apprehensions at the Banigala sub-jail. The court further deemed the notification designating Bushra Bibi’s residence as a sub-jail as “null and void”.
