Islamabad, October 6, 2025 — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed confidence that Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has enjoyed the taste of Pakistani mangoes, while highlighting the country’s agricultural excellence and export potential during a bilateral meeting.
Speaking at a joint press conference following talks between the two leaders, PM Shehbaz praised the “world-renowned flavor and quality” of Pakistani mangoes, calling them a symbol of Pakistan’s rich agricultural heritage.
“I’m sure my brother Anwar Ibrahim must have tasted Pakistani mangoes — they’re among the finest in the world,” he remarked, drawing smiles from the audience.
The lighthearted comment came amid serious discussions on trade, investment, and regional cooperation, as both nations reaffirmed their commitment to expanding economic ties.
Analysts say the exchange reflected the warm personal rapport between the two leaders and Pakistan’s efforts to promote its agricultural exports across Southeast Asia.
