Peshawar, August 8, 2024 – Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has instructed members of his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to organize nationwide public gatherings, provided they secure necessary permissions and avoid confrontations with authorities. This directive was issued during a recent meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur at Adiala Jail, as reported by Geo News.
Khan emphasized that no illegal activities should be undertaken and discouraged any physical altercations with law enforcement agencies. His guidance comes amid ongoing discussions about the party’s future political strategies.
Earlier this week, Gandapur announced that PTI would be holding its next rally in Islamabad soon, regardless of weather conditions. “No one can stop us [from staging a rally],” Gandapur declared at a PTI gathering in Swabi, KP, which commemorated Khan’s one-year imprisonment.
In the same breath, Khan expressed his willingness to engage in dialogue within the bounds of law and the Constitution. He reiterated his demand for the restoration of what he termed his party’s “stolen” mandate. Despite his incarceration, Khan has reportedly been using his time to study various subjects.
Gandapur also highlighted the party’s commitment to conducting rallies across Pakistan. Additionally, he proposed the formation of a committee to address issues related to governance and corruption, suggesting that it should be transparent and impartial. Khan recommended including Muhammad Musaddiq Abbasi, Special Assistant to the KP Chief Minister on Anti-Corruption, in the committee.
This development signifies PTI’s ongoing efforts to navigate its political agenda amidst legal and logistical challenges.
