Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has issued a severe warning to a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigator during a hearing related to the Toshakhana case.
In a court session held at Adiala Jail, Imran Khan confronted NAB investigation officer Mohsin Haroon and threatened legal action. “Because of the cases you’ve made, my wife is in jail. Once I’m out, I won’t spare you or the NAB chairman,” Imran said, as reported by Express News. He further vowed to take both Haroon and the NAB chairman to court upon his release.
This confrontation follows NAB’s challenge against the decision to grant bail to Imran Khan in a £190 million reference case. The appeal, lodged in the Supreme Court by NAB Chairman, contends that the Islamabad High Court’s bail decision, made on May 15 and set with a bond of Rs 1 million, ignored crucial facts. NAB has urged the Supreme Court to overturn this decision.
The tense exchange occurred in the presence of several individuals, amplifying the strain during the ongoing trial. This incident underscores the increasing tension between Imran Khan and state institutions, with his imprisonment and that of his wife, Bushra Bibi, remaining central to his public critiques.
Imran Khan has consistently accused NAB of pursuing politically motivated cases against him and his family, further straining relations with the accountability body. His latest threat to pursue legal action against NAB officials highlights the growing discord between the former prime minister and the country’s legal authorities.
