NEW DELHI – 20 October 2025:
In a significant development for defense collaboration, Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots are reportedly set to undergo advanced training with the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force (RAF), according to international defense sources.
The program aims to enhance interoperability, tactical expertise, and joint combat readiness between the two air forces. Training sessions are expected to take place at RAF bases in England, where Indian pilots will be exposed to advanced aerial warfare techniques and flight simulation systems.
Defense analysts believe this cooperation reflects deepening military and diplomatic ties between India and the UK, particularly in light of shared interests in regional stability and technology exchange.
“This initiative underscores India’s growing strategic outreach and the RAF’s commitment to fostering partnerships with democratic allies,”
said a London-based defense analyst.
The collaboration is also seen as a potential stepping stone toward joint defense production and co-development of future air systems, aligning with India’s “Make in India” defense modernization agenda.
Neither government has officially commented yet, but sources suggest the first batch of IAF officers could begin training later this year.
