Indian startup Surge has officially unveiled its S32 electric scooter, a versatile two-wheeler that can transform into various configurations, including a three-wheeler tuktuk, mini-pickup, mini-van, or mini-flat bed, and vice versa, all within a remarkable three-minute timeframe.
Surge, a spin-out from the renowned two-wheeler giant Hero MotoCorp’s incubation program, Hatch, showcased the S32 at their annual event, Hero World 2024, signaling its readiness for commercial launch later this year.
The S32 boasts a distinctive design and functionality, featuring a patented interchange mechanism that allows users to seamlessly switch between the compact scooter and a range of utility vehicles. The innovation lies in the fact that the two-wheeler and its various attachments have separate batteries, powertrains, and a proprietary transformation system.
The electric scooter component of the S32 can reach a maximum speed of 60 km/h and is equipped with a 4 kWh battery. Meanwhile, the three-wheeler configurations, depending on the model, can achieve a top speed of 45 km/h, with battery capacities ranging from 10 to 12 kWh.
Surge’s commitment to sustainability and practicality is evident in this multi-functional electric vehicle, which caters to diverse urban transportation needs. The company aims to offer a reliable and efficient solution for both personal and commercial use.
