Bilateral trade between Iran and Pakistan has surged to $1.128 billion in the first five months of 2024, reflecting a robust 10% growth compared to the same period last year. This increase highlights the strengthening economic ties between the two nations.
During this period, Pakistan emerged as Iran’s fourth-largest trade partner among its neighbors. Iran’s non-oil exports to Pakistan reached $360 million, while imports from Iran also totaled $360 million, both marking significant increases.
A particularly noteworthy trend was observed in April 2024, when imports from Iran jumped to $73.2 million, showcasing a remarkable 30% growth year-on-year.
The positive momentum in trade is indicative of a deepening partnership, with Iran’s total exports to Pakistan in 2023 valued at $944 million, a 13% rise from the previous year.
