The accountability court in Islamabad has suspended the perpetual warrants issued for the arrest of Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, sons of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. This decision was made on Thursday following a plea from their lawyer.
The court was informed by their legal representative that both brothers are intending to return to Pakistan on March 12 and surrender themselves to the court. This move comes in relation to the Avenfield case, in which Nawaz Sharif has previously been acquitted.
Hassan and Hussain Nawaz have already been granted relief in the al-Azizia and Flagship references. The court had initially declared them absconders seven years ago after they repeatedly failed to appear despite multiple notices.
This development marks a potential turning point in the legal proceedings against the brothers, with their return to Pakistan and surrender to the court expected to bring further clarity to the ongoing cases. Stay tuned for more updates as this story develops.
