Islamabad, September 14, 2024 — The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has officially unveiled Islamabad’s first digital car parking project at G-8 Markaz. The initiative was inaugurated by CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa and board members earlier today.
The new digital parking system aims to streamline the parking experience in the capital city, starting with the G-8 Markaz area. As part of a public awareness campaign, the CDA is offering free parking initially. The system, which will also soon be introduced at F-7 and the Centaurs Mall parking lot, is expected to be fully operational by September 25.
Future phases of the project will extend to other key commercial areas, including the Blue Area parking plaza. The system will accommodate various payment methods, including credit/debit cards, QR codes, scratch cards, and cash.
The project is a joint venture between Pakistani and Chinese firms, with the CDA set to receive 75% of the revenue generated. To encourage use, the first 15 minutes of parking are free of charge.
This digital transformation is expected to improve parking efficiency and convenience for Islamabad’s residents and visitors.
