Islamabad, September 15, 2024 — The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has reported a significant achievement in its efforts to enforce road safety regulations. According to recent data, the ITP has collected over PKR 48 million in traffic fines this year.
The substantial sum reflects the police force’s ongoing commitment to improving road safety and ensuring adherence to traffic laws. The fines collected are a result of stringent measures taken against various traffic violations, including speeding, illegal parking, and driving without proper documentation.
In a statement, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Islamabad highlighted that the funds collected from these fines will be reinvested into enhancing traffic management systems and road safety infrastructure. “Our primary goal is to create a safer driving environment for all road users. The revenue generated through these fines will support our initiatives to better manage traffic flow and invest in public awareness campaigns,” the CTO said.
The Islamabad Traffic Police has also introduced new technologies, including advanced traffic monitoring systems and mobile applications, to streamline the fine collection process and improve overall efficiency. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to modernize traffic management in the capital city.
Citizens are encouraged to adhere to traffic rules and regulations to avoid penalties and contribute to a safer road environment for everyone. The ITP remains committed to enforcing traffic laws and fostering a culture of compliance among drivers.
