K-Electric (KE) on Monday announced that it has received the lowest tariff bid for its 150-megawatt (MW) renewable energy project in Balochistan. This project, part of KE’s broader renewable energy initiative, is slated to commence by the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025 (Q4FY25).
The 150MW project is the first tranche of KE’s ambitious plan to inject 1,300MW of sustainable energy into its generation mix. This initiative includes three tranches, with the Balochistan project being followed by 270MW of renewable energy projects in Sindh and a 220MW site-neutral project, which will be KE’s first hybrid solar and wind energy venture.
KE is set to submit a bid evaluation report to the National Electricity Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) shortly. Upon NEPRA’s review and approval, KE will announce the successful bidder for this significant project.
