A judicial magistrate in Karachi’s East district has ordered the remand of four suspects involved in a phone scam that targeted foreigners. The accused—Hasan, Muhammad Mustafa, Abdul Samad, and Irteza—were arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.
The FIA seized data from foreign nationals’ credit cards, along with advanced electronic equipment used to carry out the fraud. According to reports, the group allegedly posed as legitimate representatives to extract sensitive information from foreign victims via fake calls.
During the court hearing, the FIA requested additional time to submit a final charge sheet. The suspects have been placed in judicial custody while investigations continue.

The suspects posed as bank employees and tricked citizens into sharing sensitive banking information. They gained access to three bank accounts, stealing over Rs1.9 million.
This operation is part of a broader crackdown on cybercriminal activities under the directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Advanced technology was used to trace the suspects, who remain in custody while investigators seek to identify other members of the fraud ring.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Fahad Saeed was arrested in Islamabad by the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing for online sexual harassment and blackmail. Saeed allegedly used TikTok and WhatsApp to intimidate a woman by distributing altered images of her, along with inappropriate content sent to her relatives.
The FIA confiscated electronic devices containing objectionable material, and Saeed is currently in custody. The agency plans to file a solid charge sheet to ensure Saeed faces appropriate legal action as part of their ongoing campaign against online harassment.
