Karachi — The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that Karachi will experience partially cloudy weather on Monday. Residents can expect the sun to intermittently peek through light clouds throughout the day, with a possibility of light showers and drizzle.
The maximum temperature is forecasted to reach 32°C, while the current temperature stands at 29°C. Winds from the southwest are blowing at 9 kilometers per hour, contributing to a humidity level of 78% in the air.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) indicates that Karachi’s air quality is relatively better, with the city ranking 22nd among the world’s most polluted cities and 3rd in Pakistan. The concentration of pollutant particles is recorded at 79 particulate meters.
In addition to Karachi, thunderstorms and rainfall are anticipated in various regions across the country. Areas including Kashmir, northeastern Punjab, the Pothohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to experience strong winds and thunderstorms.
Islamabad and its surrounding areas are also expected to see thunderstorms and rainfall. Cities such as Murree, Gilgit, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Taunsa, Leiah, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Kasur, Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura, Dera Ismail Khan, and Khushab are forecasted to experience rainfall with thunderstorms.
In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, rainfall is expected in Balakot, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Nowshera, Swabi, Charsadda, Mohmand, Khyber, Bajaur, Malakand, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, and Kurram.
Balochistan will see rainfall in Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel, Sherani, Loralai, Quetta, Qilla Abdullah, Kalat, Khuzdar, Killa Saifullah, and Lasbela.
Yesterday’s temperatures varied widely, with Quetta at 33°C, Qalat at 28°C, Zhob at 34°C, Ziarat at 25°C, Sibi at 39°C, and Turbat at 35°C.
Thunderstorms and rainfall are also expected in Karachi, Jamshoro, Thatta, and Badin, as well as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, and Mansehra. Additionally, strong winds and thunderstorms with rainfall are anticipated in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
