KARACHI: In an effort to protect residents from increasing crime, Karachi police have released a list of female domestic workers suspected of involvement in robberies across the city’s South district.
The list, shared on social media, includes details and photos of 110 domestic workers accused of organized theft and robberies at the homes where they were employed. Authorities are urging citizens to verify the backgrounds of domestic workers through reliable sources and register their details with the police before hiring.
In a related development, Karachi police issued an alert about the “White Corolla Gang,” a notorious group known for kidnapping and looting individuals in the city.
On January 17, a businessman fell victim to the gang near Jamali Bridge on the M9 Motorway. According to the FIR, armed suspects disguised with police caps intercepted the victim’s vehicle, held him hostage, and demanded information about the car’s tracker. Over several hours, the gang robbed the victim of Rs. 415,000 in cash and abandoned him on the Northern Bypass before fleeing with his vehicle.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity.
