Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has made a dramatic announcement pledging to send a delegation to Afghanistan to tackle the escalating security situation in the province. This statement follows his recent high-profile appearance at a PTI rally in Islamabad and a subsequent period of absence.
Addressing a gathering of bar council associations in Peshawar, Gandapur reaffirmed his alignment with Imran Khan’s ideology and urged national institutions to undertake self-reform for the benefit of the country. He issued a stern warning to those implementing harmful policies, asserting, “Keep your policies within your own homes. It is my duty to protect the lives of my province’s people.”
Gandapur expressed his frustration over the inaction regarding the security crisis, declaring, “I’m saying, let me send a delegation to Afghanistan. They are our neighbors, but nobody cares. My blood is boiling, how long can I tolerate this?” He emphasized his commitment to addressing the issue directly with Afghanistan, stating, “I announce that I will speak to Afghanistan myself, I will send a delegation, I will sit down with them and resolve the issue.”
In his speech to the Bar Councils Associations, Gandapur called for institutional reforms, stating, “I request the institutions to reform themselves. Reform yourselves. Pakistan will benefit from your reform. This nation will benefit from your reform, and you yourselves will benefit from your reform.”
Gandapur asserted his role as a vigilant citizen, declaring, “I am a citizen of Pakistan and a free individual. You will have to answer me. If you don’t answer, I will speak and ask, I will raise my voice and come out.”
He emphasized that his administration has not sought personal revenge or used provincial institutions for vendettas. “We do not want to create hatred because it harms the country,” he said. “We will not abandon our fight for our rights, justice, and true freedom. The constitution allows us to defend our rights.”
Gandapur’s declaration underscores his commitment to addressing security concerns and advocating for institutional reform as he navigates the complex political landscape in Pakistan.
