Peshawar: In a bid to maintain law and order, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a two-month ban on public gatherings in Kurram District. The decision, taken under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, aims to curb any potential unrest and ensure public safety.
According to the notification issued on Saturday, the ban prohibits all forms of rallies, protests, and large public assemblies in the region. Authorities have stated that violators of this order will face strict legal action.
The move comes amid heightened tensions in Kurram, which has witnessed sporadic incidents of violence and unrest in recent months. Security officials emphasized that the ban is a preventive measure to maintain peace and stability in the area.
Local residents have been urged to cooperate with the administration and refrain from organizing or participating in any public gatherings during this period.
The KP government has assured the public that the ban is temporary and will be lifted once the situation normalizes.
