KARACHI: A team of deep-sea explorers has discovered a long-lost treasure near the Karachi coast after a decade-long search, uncovering valuable artifacts and gold believed to date back centuries.
The discovery was made approximately 50 nautical miles off the Karachi coast, where researchers had been investigating a shipwreck suspected to have sunk in the 18th century. The team, consisting of local and international maritime archaeologists, confirmed that the treasure includes gold coins, jewelry, and ancient relics.
Lead researcher Dr. Kamran Ali stated, “This is one of the most significant maritime discoveries in Pakistan’s history. The treasure appears to be linked to a historic trade vessel that vanished in the Arabian Sea centuries ago.”
Authorities have secured the site, and the recovered artifacts are expected to be studied and displayed in a national museum. The discovery is generating excitement among historians and treasure hunters, who believe more remains hidden beneath the ocean.
