In a significant move to support Pakistan’s economy, the federal government has announced a Rs. 10 per unit reduction in electricity rates for both industrial and agricultural sectors. The relief package aims to lower production costs, enhance competitiveness, and provide much-needed support to farmers and manufacturers struggling with high energy prices.
According to official sources, the decision was taken after consultations with the Ministry of Energy and the Finance Division, as part of broader efforts to stimulate economic growth and control inflation. The government stated that the relief would not only boost export-oriented industries but also strengthen the agricultural backbone of the country by reducing input costs.
Prime Minister’s Office termed the step a “major stride toward industrial revival and agricultural empowerment.” Analysts believe this initiative will help stabilize prices, encourage local production, and create employment opportunities.
