Islamabad police have arrested a man accused of attempting to abduct popular TikTok influencer Samiya Hijab outside her residence. The suspect, identified as Hassan Zahid from Lahore, had allegedly been harassing the influencer for months with unwanted proposals, threats, and stalking.
According to the FIR lodged at Shalimar Police Station, the incident occurred on Sunday evening when the suspect tried to drag Samiya into his car after snatching her phone, leaving her injured. She managed to escape and immediately sought police help.
Samiya also released a video statement, recalling the recent murder of her friend and fellow TikToker Sana Yousaf, who was killed after rejecting a marriage proposal. “I do not want to become another Sana,” she said, demanding strict punishment for her harasser.
Authorities acted swiftly, arresting the suspect within 24 hours. A case has been registered under multiple sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including attempted kidnapping, assault, robbery, and harassment. Security has also been provided to Samiya amid ongoing threats.
In her message, Samiya thanked the police but urged the courts to deliver exemplary punishment:
“Before anyone dares cast their eyes upon a sister or daughter, they should think a thousand times.”
