Mian Channu, August 13, 2024 — Arshad Nadeem, who won a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, was celebrated in his hometown of Mian Channu by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Maryam Nawaz, who had promised a big reward for Nadeem, arrived by helicopter. She was welcomed warmly by Nadeem, his family, and his coach, Salman Iqbal Butt.
The Chief Minister hugged Nadeem’s mother, Razia Perveen, and congratulated her. She then spent time with Nadeem’s family, talking and taking pictures.
To honor Nadeem’s achievement, Maryam Nawaz gave him a cheque for ₹10 crore and the keys to a new Honda Civic. His coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, received a cheque for ₹50 lakh.
Maryam Nawaz praised Nadeem and his coach for their hard work and dedication, saying their success made the country proud.
The event was attended by several important people, including Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Minister for Sports Faisal Ayoub Khokhar, and other officials.
After the ceremony, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz left for Lahore.
