In an announcement today, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah revealed stringent measures for the upcoming Hajj season in 2024. According to the ministry, the visa will serve exclusively as an entry permit for pilgrims participating in the Hajj rituals, emphasizing that it will not be valid for work, residency, or travel outside designated cities.
Violations of these restrictions could lead to severe consequences, including a ban on future Hajj participation and potential deportation. The ministry highlighted that international visitors, excluding those from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries requiring a Hajj permit, must obtain a specific Hajj visa for entry.
Furthermore, the Hajj visa is only valid for the duration of the Hajj season, prohibiting holders from performing Umrah or engaging in any employment during this period. To streamline the process, the ministry has introduced electronic registration through the visa platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Key deadlines were outlined, with applicants required to register by the 7th of Dhu Al Hijjah or until the pilgrim quota is reached. The application process involves logging into the visa platform, selecting appropriate services, and uploading necessary documents.
Officials advise potential pilgrims to apply well in advance to ensure compliance with regulations, as processing typically takes up to three working days.
Stay tuned for further updates as the Hajj 2024 season approaches.
