Lahore – The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a flood alert as heavy monsoon rains swell water levels in major rivers across the province.
According to PDMA officials, inflows at the Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers have increased significantly, raising the risk of flooding in low-lying and vulnerable districts. Rescue teams have been placed on high alert, while local administrations have been directed to prepare evacuation and relief plans.
The authority has also urged citizens living near riverbanks to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary movement, and follow safety advisories. Relief camps and medical facilities are being readied in case of emergencies.
Officials warned that more rainfall is expected in the coming days, which could intensify the situation.
