“Monthly Salaries of President, Prime Minister, Government Officials, and Chief Justice Revealed
According to a report by the Auditor General, the monthly salary of the President of the country is Rs 896,550, the Prime Minister’s salary is Rs 215,000, Members of Parliament receive Rs 188,000 monthly, a Federal Minister’s salary is Rs 338,000, and the Chief Justice of Pakistan earns Rs 1,527,399 monthly.
Other judges of the Supreme Court receive a monthly salary of Rs 1,470,000, while the Governor of the State Bank receives Rs 3,000,000 monthly. Government representatives also receive substantial benefits in addition to their salaries. The President receives official residence, a government car, unlimited petrol, electricity, gas bills, and other facilities.
The Prime Minister is provided with the Prime Minister House, a bomb-proof car and squad, unlimited petrol, electricity, gas bills, and other facilities. However, Members of Parliament have to pay for their electricity and gas bills, including rent for Parliament Lodges.
In addition to a monthly salary of Rs 1,527,399, the Chief Justice of Pakistan also receives a government house, a bullet-proof car, a 1800cc car, and 600 liters of petrol. Unlimited electricity, gas bills, and other amenities are also provided, including medical facilities.
Other judges of the Supreme Court receive a monthly salary of Rs 1,470,000 with a house rent of Rs 68,000, 600 liters of petrol, unlimited electricity, gas bills, and other facilities. The Chief Justice and other judges also receive a daily allowance of Rs 8,000 along with a ‘TA/DA’ equivalent to Grade 22 officers.
Government officers of Grade 22 in the federal capital Islamabad receive a monthly salary of Rs 591,000. They are also provided with a house allowance of Rs 98,000, 290 liters of petrol, and a government car. They are responsible for paying their utility bills including electricity and gas.
In July 2022, it was reported in the National Assembly that the Governor of the State Bank receives a monthly salary of Rs 2,500,000 with a 10% annual increment. With the recent increment, the Governor now receives over Rs 3,000,000 monthly.
Additionally, the Governor of the State Bank is provided with a fully furnished residence, 2 government cars, 1200 liters of petrol per month, a driver, and salaries for 4 domestic employees. The expenses for electricity, gas, water bills, and generator fuel are covered. Furthermore, 75% of school fees for children are also paid by the State Bank.”
