The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more thunder showers in the coming days across various regions of the country. According to the Met Office, monsoon currents are entering upper and central parts of Pakistan and are expected to intensify starting July 28, with a westerly wave likely to enter by July 29.
The weather system is expected to bring rain-wind and thunderstorms to areas including Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sindh, and parts of Balochistan.
Cities such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, and Quetta may experience isolated heavy showers, while flash flooding and urban flooding could occur in vulnerable areas.
Authorities have advised the public to stay alert, avoid unnecessary travel during storms, and secure loose structures as strong winds and lightning are also expected.
