Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that Murree will be cleared of illegal hotels and constructions, reaffirming the government’s commitment to preserving the hill station’s natural beauty and ensuring public safety.
Speaking on the issue, CM Maryam said that unchecked and illegal construction has put immense pressure on Murree’s infrastructure, environment, and traffic flow. She emphasized that no one will be allowed to violate laws under the guise of tourism or business.
According to officials, a comprehensive operation will be launched to identify and remove hotels and buildings constructed without proper approvals. The government aims to regulate tourism in Murree, improve facilities, and prevent environmental degradation.
Residents and environmental experts have welcomed the announcement, calling it a long-overdue step toward sustainable tourism and responsible urban planning. Authorities added that legal businesses will be protected, while strict action will be taken against violations.
