Karachi is set to experience a chillier start to the new year as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts a further dip in temperatures. The Met Office’s latest forecast indicates that a cold wave will persist into January, with nighttime temperatures expected to drop as low as 7°C in some areas.
According to PMD officials, cold winds from the north are intensifying, contributing to the colder-than-usual weather for the port city. Residents are advised to take precautions, especially during nighttime and early morning hours when temperatures are at their lowest.
This winter’s chill follows a year of fluctuating weather patterns in Karachi, which has seen prolonged heatwaves in summer and unexpected rainfall during monsoon season. As the city braces for cooler days ahead, the Met Office also reminded citizens to stay updated with regular weather bulletins.
