ISLAMABAD — The city administration has officially enforced a new rule stating that no vehicle will be allowed to enter Islamabad without an E-tag, as part of tightened security and traffic management measures.
According to officials, the electronic tagging system aims to enhance surveillance, streamline vehicle verification, and reduce congestion at city entry points. The rule applies to all private, commercial, and government vehicles entering the federal capital through major routes.
Motorists have been advised to obtain E-tags from designated centers operated by the Islamabad Safe City Project. Traffic police have begun strict checking at entry points, with vehicles lacking tags being turned back or fined.
Authorities said the initiative will help improve safety and ensure that only verified vehicles are allowed into Islamabad, especially amid rising security concerns.
