LAHORE: The Punjab government has officially banned the use of mobile phones in colleges across the province, aiming to improve students’ focus on education.
According to a notification issued by the Higher Education Department (HED), students will no longer be allowed to bring or use mobile phones in classrooms. The decision comes in response to growing concerns over students’ academic performance and discipline issues due to excessive phone usage.
Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against those who violate the ban, including confiscation of devices and disciplinary measures. College administrations have been directed to ensure full compliance with the new policy.
The move has sparked mixed reactions among students and teachers. While some believe it will help curb distractions, others argue that mobile phones are essential for educational purposes.
