OSLO – 16 October 2025:
In a powerful act of solidarity, the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) has announced that it will donate $350,000 in sponsorship funds, along with earnings from its recent football match against Israel, to support humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza.
According to an official statement from the NFF, the decision was made “in light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” with the goal of providing direct support to organizations delivering food, medicine, and shelter to affected civilians.
The donations will be channeled through international relief agencies operating in the region, ensuring transparency and accountability in fund distribution.
Several Norwegian players reportedly backed the move, describing it as a “humanitarian gesture that goes beyond football,” emphasizing the role of sports in promoting peace and compassion.
Observers have praised Norway’s initiative as a symbol of sports diplomacy, highlighting how the global sporting community can contribute to humanitarian causes in times of crisis.
