The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has officially commenced oil and gas production from its newly established site in Hyderabad. This significant step marks a milestone in the country’s energy sector and is expected to enhance Pakistan’s domestic oil and gas supply, reducing reliance on imports.
The production facility in Hyderabad is part of OGDCL’s ongoing efforts to expand its exploration and production capabilities across the region. With a focus on increasing energy output, the project is anticipated to provide a substantial contribution to Pakistan’s energy mix, supporting both industrial and residential energy needs.
OGDCL’s spokesperson expressed optimism about the project, stating, “The commencement of production from the Hyderabad field is a testament to our commitment to meeting Pakistan’s growing energy demands while boosting the national economy.”
The site is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to ensure efficient extraction and minimal environmental impact. Experts believe the Hyderabad production facility will play a crucial role in stabilizing local energy prices and reducing the dependency on imported fuel.
The government has welcomed the development, seeing it as an important step towards achieving energy security and fostering growth within the local economy.
