In a monumental display of faith and unity, more than 1.5 million Muslim pilgrims have converged in Saudi Arabia for the annual Hajj pilgrimage, marking the Hajj 2024 season. The pilgrimage commenced on Friday with pilgrims from around the globe participating in key rituals.
Today, pilgrims are gathered at Maidan-e-Arafat to observe Waqoof-e-Arafa, a pivotal moment where Prophet Muhammad (SAW) delivered his farewell sermon centuries ago. At Masjid-e-Nimrah, the Hajj Sermon is being translated into 50 languages, underscoring the inclusive spirit of the gathering.
Following the Arafat observance, pilgrims will proceed to Muzdalifa to collect pebbles for the stoning of the devil’s pillars in Mina, symbolizing the rejection of evil temptations.
The Hajj pilgrimage culminates with the joyous celebrations of Eid al-Adha, where pilgrims will perform Qurbani, the ritual sacrifice commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God.
