International reports, corroborated by diplomats, detailed the extensive toll of the disaster: 600 Egyptians, 144 Indonesians, 68 Indians, 60 Jordanians, 35 Tunisians, 11 Iranians, and several Senegalese pilgrims were among those reported deceased.
While Saudi Arabian authorities have not disclosed the exact number of fatalities, they confirmed over 2,700 cases of pilgrims suffering from heat exhaustion, underscoring the severity of the climatic conditions during this year’s pilgrimage.
