Islamabad, October 28, 2025 — In a major step toward digital transformation, Pakistan’s airports have officially gone cashless with the introduction of a new nationwide digital payment system. The initiative aims to modernize airport operations, enhance passenger convenience, and promote a cashless economy.
According to the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), the new system will allow travelers to pay for all airport services — including parking, lounges, retail, and food outlets — through digital wallets, debit/credit cards, and QR-based payments. The move is part of the government’s broader push to encourage digital transactions and reduce reliance on cash handling.
Federal Minister for Aviation Khawaja Asif said the transition marks “a significant milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward a modern, tech-driven aviation sector.”
The PCAA plans to integrate the system with national fintech platforms to ensure seamless payments for both local and international passengers.
