RAWALPINDI – In a significant upgrade to its combat capabilities, the Pakistan Army has officially received new Z-10ME attack helicopters from China. These state-of-the-art aircraft are designed for all-weather, day and night operations, and are expected to strengthen Pakistan’s ability to conduct precision strikes and counter-terrorism missions.
The Z-10ME is an export variant of the Chinese CAIC Z-10, specifically enhanced for high-altitude performance and adverse weather conditions. Equipped with advanced avionics, anti-tank guided missiles, and air-to-air weaponry, the helicopters will enhance the army’s tactical advantage in complex terrains, including border regions.
Defense experts consider the acquisition a major milestone in Pakistan-China military cooperation. The move also reflects Islamabad’s ongoing efforts to modernize its armed forces amid evolving regional security challenges.
The helicopters will soon be integrated into operational formations, with training and deployment already underway.
