The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the appointment of former cricketer Aaqib Javed as the interim coach for Pakistan’s white-ball teams. The decision comes as part of PCB’s efforts to bolster the team’s performance ahead of crucial upcoming series.
Aaqib Javed, known for his expertise in limited-overs cricket, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having been an integral part of Pakistan’s World Cup-winning squad in 1992. He has previously served as a coach in various capacities, including a successful stint with the UAE national team and Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
PCB Chairman expressed confidence in Aaqib’s ability to guide the team during this transitional phase, stating, “Aaqib Javed’s deep understanding of the modern game and his proven track record make him the ideal choice to lead our white-ball sides at this critical juncture.”
