The Pakistan cricket team’s intensive training camp in Kakul is set to conclude a day earlier than planned, following a special invitation from Army Chief General Asim Munir. Originally scheduled to end on April 8, the camp will now wrap up on April 7.
However, this change in plans comes with an exciting development for the players. They have been invited to an iftar at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on April 7, an event hosted by General Munir himself. After this iftar gathering, the training camp will formally come to a close.
The cricketers will then return to Rawalpindi after Eid ul Fitr to gear up for an upcoming series against New Zealand, starting on April 18. This series holds significant importance for the team as they aim to showcase their skills and strategies against a formidable opponent.
The training camp, organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), was initiated shortly after Mohsin Naqvi assumed the role of chairman. Naqvi has emphasized that training under the army’s guidance will not only enhance fitness standards but also elevate the team’s overall performance, despite the tight schedule.
This unique collaboration between the cricket board and the army demonstrates a commitment to ensuring the players receive top-notch training and preparation ahead of their upcoming challenges on the field.
