This year has proven to be a fruitful one for Pakistan’s mango exports, as the country witnesses a significant increase in shipments of its prized tropical fruit. Since the commencement of exports on May 20, 2024, Pakistan has exported over 93,000 metric tonnes of mangoes valued at $61 million. The majority of these exports have been destined for the UAE, Iran, and other countries in the Middle East, underscoring the region’s growing appetite for Pakistani mangoes.
The surge in exports can be attributed to enhanced production capabilities and improved fruit quality, which have bolstered Pakistan’s position as a leading exporter of mangoes in the global market. Efforts by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to promote Pakistani mangoes internationally have also played a crucial role in attracting more buyers and increasing demand.
“This year’s export figures reflect the growing international recognition of Pakistani mangoes for their superior taste and quality,” commented a spokesperson from TDAP. “Our promotional campaigns and strategic initiatives have effectively highlighted the uniqueness of Pakistani mango varieties, further driving up demand in key markets.”
The success of Pakistan’s mango exports in 2024 not only signifies a boon for the country’s agricultural sector but also underscores the potential for further growth in the global mango trade. As consumer preferences continue to favor high-quality produce, Pakistani mangoes are poised to maintain their strong presence in international markets in the years to come.
