New Deposits in Kohat District Promise Boost to Pakistan’s Energy Sector

Islamabad, August 18, 2024 — Pakistan has announced a major discovery of oil and gas in the Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. MOL Pakistan, part of Hungary’s MOL Group and owning 8.4% of the TAL Block, revealed the find.

The discovery was made in the Razgir-1 well, with Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL), and Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) finding gas condensate. This discovery opens up new opportunities for exploration and development in the TAL Block, potentially boosting Pakistan’s energy resources.
