Pakistan on Tuesday observed the 58th death anniversary of Madar-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah, remembering her unmatched contributions to the creation of Pakistan and her unwavering commitment to democratic values.
Various events were held across the country to honor the sister of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who stood firm against dictatorship and worked tirelessly for the rights of women and democracy after independence.
Leaders from different political and social backgrounds paid rich tribute to Fatima Jinnah, hailing her as a symbol of courage, integrity, and national unity. Special prayers were also offered for her soul at her mausoleum in Karachi, where citizens gathered to pay their respects.
Born in 1893, Fatima Jinnah was a close companion of the Quaid and played a vital role in the Pakistan Movement. She later emerged as a strong voice of opposition during General Ayub Khan’s martial law, contesting the 1965 presidential elections.
On this solemn occasion, the nation remembered her legacy with deep respect, vowing to uphold the democratic ideals she stood for.
