Islamabad – In a historic cultural and religious milestone, Pakistan has announced that it will host its first-ever International Qirat Competition, bringing together globally renowned Qur’an reciters from across the Muslim world. The event is set to highlight Pakistan’s rich tradition of Qur’anic recitation and provide a platform for young qaris to showcase their talent on an international stage.
According to officials, delegations from multiple countries in the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia are expected to participate. The competition will feature various categories, including classical recitation, tajweed proficiency, and melodious delivery.
The federal Ministry of Religious Affairs is overseeing preparations, with special arrangements being made to ensure international-standard hospitality, security, and media coverage. The event will also include workshops, lectures by distinguished Islamic scholars, and cultural exhibitions.
Religious leaders across Pakistan have welcomed the announcement, calling it a “significant step” toward promoting Qur’anic education and fostering interfaith harmony through spiritual recitation.
