In response to the escalating demand for skilled nursing professionals in Malaysia, the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, has announced plans to dispatch approximately 100 female nurses to a prominent health firm in Malaysia.
An official declaration from the OEC on Thursday highlighted the crucial role Pakistani nurses have played in Malaysia’s healthcare sector, attributing the surge in demand to their exceptional performance. With applications now open, aspiring candidates are invited to vie for these sought-after positions.
To be eligible for consideration, candidates must hold either a nursing diploma or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a recognized institution. Additionally, registration with the Nursing Council and a minimum of three years of hospital experience are prerequisites. Preference will be accorded to individuals with specialized training in critical areas such as operating theaters, intensive care units, or pediatrics. The age limit for applicants stands at 45 years.
The monthly remuneration for these roles ranges from RM3,000 to RM4,500, supplemented by various allowances. Specialized nurses can anticipate an allowance of RM1,100, while general nursing staff will receive RM700. Those possessing a nursing degree will be entitled to RM400, and individuals with post-basic training will receive RM800.
The OEC official further disclosed that employee salaries will undergo annual reviews every March, reflecting both performance evaluations and market standards. Any salary adjustments will be retroactively implemented from January onwards. Additionally, employees will be rewarded with a one-month bonus for each completed year of service, payable upon fulfilling a two-year contract.
Prospective applicants can apply through the OEC’s website, with technical assistance available through the OEC Helpdesk team or via email. A bank challan of Rs1000/- must accompany online applications, with the submission deadline set for June 5. This initiative not only signifies a significant advancement in professional opportunities for Pakistani nurses abroad but also serves to address Malaysia’s burgeoning healthcare demands.
